Comparing the Dual Enrollment Programs

The Dual Enrollment programs provide Wake County Public School System students the opportunity to earn college credit and in some cases high school credit as well. To learn more about the differences between the programs, please review the Comparing the Dual Enrollment Programs  document.

Concurrent Enrollment

Concurrent Enrollment - allows students to take almost any course at Wake Tech that is not included in the . Classes are free for Wake County Public School System students, except for transportation expenses and textbooks. Students receive both WCPSS credit and WTCC credit. The community college course cannot be one that is offered at the student's base school. Students must be at least 16-years old. Intellectually gifted students under 16-years old may be able to participate, but will not receive WCPSS credit. Students go through the same application process as any Wake Tech student, which includes passing an entrance exam.
